About Me

Hi there. Thanks for visiting my site!

My name is Lydia (she/her). I’m an EMC performer and teaching artist based in Brooklyn New York and born and raised in Wilmington Delaware. I count myself really lucky to have grown up in a place bursting with local theater and (luckiest of all) to have had parents who were willing to drive me to endless rehearsals and performances as far away as Lancaster PA and New York City.

I am a proud graduate of Syracuse University's BFA acting program (Go Orange!) and really enjoyed my time there, studying everything from acting, voice, dance and movement to clown technique, stage combat and Spanish Language (I completed a minor in Spanish.) While in school I, along with a few of my other classmates, fully produced and performed in an all-female production of Julius Caesar which was definitely one of the highlights of my time there.

While at Syracuse, I spent a semester in London at Shakespeare's Globe studying Shakespeare, stage combat, voice and movement.

I also spent time at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art as part of their Shakespeare and His Contemporaries 6 week course. It was amazing to get to work with their full-time faculty in such a rigorous program and I really grew my (already quite great) love for working with Shakespeare's text.

I am a teaching artist as well as a performer, and have worked with kids from kindergarten through high school teaching theater, Shakespeare and art. While a company member with Scranton Shakespeare Festival, I also worked daily as a teaching artist for their high school Youth Ensemble Program. In between and (when geographically possible) in addition to performance jobs, I currently work as a teaching artist at a school in Queens, leading classes in theater and art. I really love working with young people, and find that bringing the arts to kids reinvigorates my own artistic joy time and time again. In March I will be heading up to the Catskills to join Catskill Mountain Shakespeare's school touring production of The Tempest. I'll be playing Miranda & Trinculo and also leading workshops for the highschoolers after the show.

Feel free to take a look around to watch my reels/media, access my resume and to find out how to get in touch.
